This year we are exploring materials, tools, and design.  So far we have been observing tools and how they are used to help us observe, measure, and make things.  Tools help us do things better and more easily.  Our classroom definition is a device or implement used to carry out a particular function, it usually aids in accomplishing a task.  Take a look around your environment and find a tool that helps you to carry out a task.  How is it used?  Take some time to explore the use of tools.

Our first activity was to create the model of a tool out of legos.  It had to be one you had used that very day.  Here is a picture of one of those models.  What tools do you think she used at home that morning?
